PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-resistant resin composition which is flame-retardant treated without a halogenide flame-retardant. SOLUTION: The flame-resistant resin composition comprises a base resin (for example, a thermoplastic resin such as a polyester resin) and a flame- retardant composed of (A) a formaldehyde polymer (for example, a polyacetal and/or a polydioxorane) and at least one selected from (B1) a nitrogen- containing compound and (B2) an aromatic resin. Examples of the nitrogen- containing compound (B1) include (a) a nitrogen-containing cyclic compound having an amino group, (b) a urea compound, and (c) a guanidine compound. Example of the aromatic resin (B2) include a resin having a hydroxyl-and/or amino-having aromatic ring in the main or side chain. The flame-retardant has a content of about 0.1-300 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the base resin.
