PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor controller for a steering device capable of giving a proper steering reaction to a steering wheel according to running conditions. SOLUTION: This electric power steering controller comprises a steering shaft reaction torque sensor for detecting the reaction torque of a steering system, a superimposed reaction torque calculation part for calculating a superimposed reaction torque in the return direction of the steering wheel by multiplying a gain by a steer angle detected by the steer angle sensor, and a control part for controlling the gain so that, when the reaction torque of the steering system is large, the superimposed reaction torque is reduced and, when the reaction of the steering system is small, the superimposed reaction torque is increased. |
