PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding seat not interfering with a seat cushion when a seatback is inclined backward, having good seating feeling and appearance. SOLUTION: This folding seat is composed of a guide formed in a part except for a seatback and a seat cushion 71 and extending in the back-and-forth direction, a slider movably engaged with the guide and attached to the seat cushion, a retracting link 131 rotatably attached to the seat cushion 71 at a first end portion and attached to a part except for the seat back 111 and the seat cushion at a second end portion, a pinion portion (a pinion) 131a provided at a rotating center in the second end portion side of the retracting link 131, and a rack plate 121 formed with a rack engaged with the pinion portion 131a, linearly moving according to forward inclining of the seat back, and moving the seat cushion forward through the pinion portion 131a and the retracting link 131 rotating about the pinion portion 131a. The rack of the rack plate 121 is structured to be engaged with the pinion portion 131a after the seatback is forwardly inclined to a position where seating is impossible.
