PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential device having a simple and compact structure in spite of an interrupting function of driving force, easy to assemble, having high reliability, and forming no sliding section between a stationary side. SOLUTION: This differential device is provided with a differential gear case 3, a differential mechanism 5 distributing the driving force of an engine to right and left wheels from output side gears 33 and 35, a clutch mechanism 11 interrupting the driving force between the side gear 35 and its axle side, and an electromagnet 13 operating the clutch mechanism 11.
