PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a board material having relatively small weight, high strength, and excellent fire resistance and soundproofness and capable of effectively utilizing resources and provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This board material 5 is a recycled product generated by reutilizing glass wastes of empty bottles or the like. An additive 2 is added to the glass fine powder obtained by crushing the glass wastes, the mixture is heated, fused, foamed, and baked in a special reactor, then it is gradually cooled to the room temperature to form the board material 5. The board material 5 has a porous structure with independent voids 7, and its bulk specific gravity is 0.4-1.5.
