PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to precisely discriminate the state of a camera, perform optimum shake correction in accordance with the state of the camera, and give comfortable operability. SOLUTION: This camera is provided with a shake detection means for detecting the shake of the camera, a subject recognition means for recognizing a subject to be photographed based on output from an area sensor consisting of a plurality of pixels and receiving a subject image, a line-of-sight detection means for detecting the position of the line of sight of a photographer observing through a finder, a discrimination means (#112) for discriminating the state of the camera based on the shake detection information, subject recognition information and line-of-sight information, and a camera shake correction means (#113) changing camera shake correction control to correct camera shake in accordance with the result by the discrimination means. |
