PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain rattling of a composite belt of a transmission. SOLUTION: A problem of rattling is solved by eliminating a change of a friction coefficient in a working state of the belt (carrier). Materially, a carrier contact surface of a crossing element and an inside contact surface of the carrier to contact this contact surface have composite roughness Ra' which is larger than 0.6μm and favourably larger than 0.75μm.
