PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compaction method capable of enhancing the strength of sediment used for filling a cavity portion, backfilling, backing to a structure, and particularly the resistance against liquefaction. SOLUTION: According to the compaction method stated above, sediment is mixed together with a mixture of a solidifier containing lime or gypsum and water and then poured to a work place where backfilling, backing to a structure or performing the compaction of sediment used for filling to cavity portion.
