PURPOSE: A high performance client-server communication system is provided to include a plurality of proxies so as to increase client-server communication speed. CONSTITUTION: A client-server system(100) includes a plurality of clients(102) which are connected to a server system or a plurality of servers(104) via the Internet(106). The system(100) includes a name server(108) which assists clients(102) in establishing a communication link with the server system(104). The clients(102) are the actual machines or software residing in such machines that are capable of interfacing directly or indirectly to the Internet.
