PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the bearing device of a turbocharger capable of reducing the vibration by self-excited vibration and noise. SOLUTION: This bearing device of the turbocharger comprises a floated bush bearing 7 pivotally supporting the rotating shaft 6 of the turbocharger. The ratio of the inner peripheral surface width Lj to the outer peripheral surface width Lf thereof is formed in outer peripheral surface width Lf/inner peripheral surface width Lj<=1. Such a relation is found in the magnitude (amplitude) of a self-excited vibration produced when the floated bush bearing 7 is used as the bearing device and the ratio of the outer peripheral surface width Lf to the inner peripheral surface width Lj of the floated bush bearing 7 (Lf/Lj) that the magnitude of the self-excited vibration is smaller as the ratio is smaller. Accordingly, the vibration and noise by the self-excited vibration can be suppressed to a low level without remarkably changing the formation of the bearing structure of the turbocharger. |
