PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support vehicle running by easily and accurately judging the intention of keeping or changing a lane by a vehicle driver. SOLUTION: A lateral displacement sensor 10 and a steering sensor 12 are installed to detect a lateral displacement amount and a steering angle and to supply the detected values to an ECU 18. The ECU 18 calculates a lateral displacement speed and a steering speed and, based on the relation of phase between the lateral displacement speed and the steering speed, and judges the intention of keeping or changing the lane. Namely, when the lateral displacement speed and the steering speed are reversed in phase to each other, the ECU judges the intention of keeping the lane and, when these speeds are same in phase, the ECU judges the intention of changing the lane. The ECU 18 controls a drive device 20 such as a 4 WS drive device and a braking device according to the judged results. |
