PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder having a recording head of which the recording width is enlarged even when a size in the main scanning direction thereof is reduced. SOLUTION: This ink jet recorder comprises a first color recording head (30) having a plurality of ejection nozzles (31) for ejecting an ink of a first color and a second color recording head (30) having a plurality of ejection nozzles (31) for ejecting an ink of a second color and performs the recording by moving the recording head in the main scanning direction. Each recording head (30) is divided into an upper side unit (31A) and a lower side unit (30B) which is shifted in the sub-scanning direction and the main scanning direction with respect to the upper side unit (31A). The upper side unit (31A) of the second color recording head (30) is adjacent to the upper side unit (31A) of the first color recording head (30) in the main scanning direction. The lower side unit (30B) of the second color recording head (30) is adjacent to the lower side unit (30B) of the first color recording head (30) in the main scanning direction at a portion below the upper side recording head unit of the first color recording head (30) in the sub-scanning direction. |
