PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light quantity adjusting device capable of effectively utilizing an arranging space and realizing sure driving for light quantity adjustment as a light quantity adjusting device to be assembled in optical equipment. SOLUTION: A lens barrel 31 in which an exposure controller being the light quantity adjusting device is assembled applies a DC solenoid device 11 as a driving source for driving shutter blades 4 and 5 being a light quantity adjusting means. Since the solenoid device is arranged in posture that a plunger 17 is parallel with an optical axis, lateral pressure acts on the plunger 17 through a shutter lever 7 at the time of driving the shutter blade. By receiving the lateral pressure by the bearing part 3d of a shutter main body 3 in which the external shaft part 17f of the plunger 17 is fit, smooth light quantity adjusting operation can be performed and the device can be made compact.
