PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aligning method for connecting a plurality of aligned parts without a gap. SOLUTION: A casing holder 25 whose upper outer peripheral face 25b is formed in a spherical shape is inserted from an upper opening side into a cylindrical base 11 whose upper inner face becomes a taper face 11b. The upper outer peripheral face is received by the taper face and the cylindrical holder is freely rotatably supported by the cylindrical base. A casing 30 storing a Faraday rotator is attached to the cylindrical holder. A lens holder 31 and a ferrule 33 are held in an unillustrated fixture and positioned above the casing, a relative position relation is adjusted and an aligning processing is performed. Even if the connection face of the lens holder and the casing is obliquely arranged and a gap S occurs, the end face of the lens holder is brought into contact with that of the casing and the casing holder is rotated. Thus, the end faces of the two parts can be brought into face-contact with one another.
