PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact tester improved especially with respect to the return of a placing needle (indicator) indicating the graduations on a scale plate. SOLUTION: The impact tester has the scale plate 4, the friction pointer 5 for indicating the graduations of the scale plate 4, a push metal fitting 6 rotated corresponding to the operation of a test instrument applying an impact to a material to be tested to push the friction pointer 5 forwardly, a return metal fitting 7 for pushing back the pointer 5 to return the same to the original position, a return drive means 8 for rotationally driving the return metal fitting 7 and a remote operation switch 12 for remotely operating the return drive means 8.
