PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder capable of preventing a paper misalignment during paper feeding cassette insertion without unnecessarily enhancing rigidity of a paper feeding cassette casing and manually recomposing a tilting preventing member to every paper size. SOLUTION: When size of printing paper housed in the paper feeder 9 is changed and side regulating plates 22A and 22B are arranged in positions corresponding to the desired paper size, the tilting preventing member 40 moves in association with the movements of the side regulating plates to a position corresponding to the desired paper size. When a paper feeding cassette 20 is attached to the paper feeder 9, the tilting preventing member 40 protrudes from a cutout part 51 provided in a side wall 20A of the paper feeding cassette 20 and it abuts on an abutting part 50 provided on the casing 9A of the paper feeder 9.
