<p>Described herein is a purification process to make high isomeric purity, essentially colorless 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone from an impure isomeric mixture comprising 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone, 2,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone, and optionally triphenol disulfone, which combines one or more recrystallizations from water or water with a small amount of added base and decolorization with a carbonaceous adsorbent.</p> |
