PURPOSE: To provide a device and method for covering a conducting fiber supporting body with a superconducting ceramic. CONSTITUTION: An electrode 32 connected to a voltage source 24 and coming in electrical contact with slurry 14 is sunken in a container 12 holding slurry 14 formed by suspending superconductor particles in a nonaqueous solution, a conducting fiber supporting body 16 for forming a counter electrode connected to the voltage source 24 is passed through the slurry 14, and the surface of the conducting fiber supporting body 16 is covered with the superconductor particles by electrophoresis. A magnet device 44 is arranged on the outside of the container 12, and the superconductor particles on the conducting fiber supporting body 16 are oriented in the desirable direction by a magnetic field. After that, the covered conducting fiber supporting body 16 is heated in a oven 64 to convert the superconductor particles into ceramic. |
