摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface condition detecting method, whereby a surface condition of a beltlike image carrier, such as a transfer belt or a photoreceptor belt, can be detected accurately, to provide a toner quantitative measurement method whereby a quantity of toner attached to the beltlike image carrier can be measured accurately by the detection method, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the detection method. SOLUTION: After eccentricity components of rollers are obtained from sampling data, the eccentricity components are removed from the sampling output, in order to obtain a cycle profile (step S7). The cycle profile which indicates a surface condition of the intermediate transfer belt, will not include eccentricity components of the rollers and the surface condition of the intermediate transfer belt can be indicted accurately.
