PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch control mechanism for a push-pull lock, which doubles as a push-pull handle device. SOLUTION: In the push-pull lock, a slider 16 is vertically movably arranged inside a pedestal 20 mounted on an internal surface of a door. The slider is upward energized by a spring, and a notch 26 is formed in a side portion of the slider. On the other hand, a driving plate 14 having an operating portion 25 formed thereon is mounted inside an operating shaft 12 of a lever handle, and a central portion of the slider is cut and erected inward to form an operating piece 9 which is then inserted into a lock box from an indoor side.
