PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording head and an ink jet recorder in which high speed printing can be realized while sustaining a good print quality and enhancing ink ejection characteristics. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording head comprises a nozzle plate 20 provided with nozzle openings, a channel forming substrate 10 defined with pressure chambers 12 communicating with the nozzle openings, and piezoelectric elements 300 each comprising a lower electrode 60 provided in a region of the channel forming substrate 10 corresponding to the pressure chamber 12 through a diaphragm, a piezoelectric layer 70 and an upper electrode 80. The pressure chamber 12 communicates, at one end in the longitudinal direction thereof, with the common ink chamber, i.e., the reservoir 100, of each pressure chamber 12 through an ink supply passage 14. The nozzle plate 20 is provided, in a region opposite to the boundary of the pressure chamber 12 and the ink supply passage 14, with a part 22 for regulating the flow rate of ink flowing out from the pressure chamber 12 so that vibration of ink incident to ejection of an ink drop is damped effectively.
