PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission capable of preventing unbalance of torque allotment to each trunnion and taking its means of settlement inexpensively. SOLUTION: A clearance CL1 of an upper side shoulder part 30 of at least one of the left and right trunnions 3 of a first toroidal speed change part and an upper link 4 is made smaller than a clearance CL2 of the upper side shoulder part 30 of the trunnion 3 of a second toroidal speed change part on the same left and right sides of the one trunnion of the first toroidal speed change part and the upper link 4 and the clearance CL1 of the lower side shoulder part 30 of the one trunnion of the first toroidal speed change part and a lower link 5 is set to be smaller than the clearance CL2 of the lower side shoulder part of the trunnion of the second toroidal speed change part and the lower link on the same left and right of the one trunnion of the first trunnion speed change part on the toroidal type continuously variable transmission furnished with the first toroidal speed change part and the second toroidal speed change part, with the upper link connecting upper shaft parts of the trunnions of the first and second toroidal speed change parts and with the lower link connecting lower shaft parts of the trunnions.
