摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection controller for an internal combustion engine capable of fuel cut at the appropriate timing to avoid deterioration of exhaust emissions and an emission control catalyst. SOLUTION: The fuel injection controller for an internal combustion engine controls the amount of fuel supplied by a fuel injector, by utilizing a fuel behavior model which models the dynamic behavior of fuel flowing into the cylinders of the engine from the fuel injector. When engine operating conditions meet the requirements for stopping fuel injection, the fuel injection is actually stopped at the time when predetermined requirements are met based on the results of computations concerning adhering fuel in the fuel behavior model.
