PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic alignment adjusting device capable of always keeping a constant alignment condition and suppressing vibration change at the time of starting. SOLUTION: This alignment adjusting device is composed of a parameter monitor to detect the condition of a shaft 4, arithmetic unit operate a controlled variable from a quantity monitored by the parameter monitor, and an actuator to adjust the alignment of the shaft 4 by the controlled variable operated by the arithmetic unit. The feature of this alignment adjusting device is that a displacement meter 6 for the shaft system is used as the parameter monitor, the arithmetic unit 7 finds shaft vibration by the detected quantity from the displacement meter, and the actuator 5 adjusts the alignment of the shaft system so that the shaft vibration found by arithmetic unit is suppressed.
