PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical instrument in which a desired sounding length is obtained in accordance with the operation of an operation element. SOLUTION: The instrument has a sounding instruction operation element which instructs a start of sounding and a sounding control means which starts a sounding process by the operation of the operation element, continues the process after the release of the operation element and conducts a muffling process when the same operation element is operated again.
