PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine air-fuel ratio controller capable of accurately controlling the amount of stored catalytic oxygen to a target value by inhibiting errors between the actual amount of stored catalytic oxygen and the theoretical amount of stored catalytic oxygen without performing complex model designing and calculations. SOLUTION: A high-accuracy extra fuel quantity integration reflecting value DTAUINTn allowing for a delay in detection can be obtained since it is based on an air-fuel ratio AFMn and an actual injection time TAUn-d which serves as the subject of detection for the air-fuel ratio (S130 and S160 to S190). Similarly, a base injection time correction factor KTAUSMn is calculated independently of DTAUINTn while allowing for the delay in detection (S130 to S150 and S210). Such processes are made possible by storing the actual injection time TAUn and a delay calculation air-fuel ratio AFCn, and reading these stored values for use if the corresponding emissions become the subject of detection of air-fuel ratio.
