PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a seismic isolator for a wooden building, which implements base isolation with respect to both vertical and horizontal force in a simplified structure, the base isolation device being prone to have a complicated structure. SOLUTION: According to the method, a fitting hole (1c) is formed in a bottom of a ground sill, and a cylindrical elastic rubber body (2a) is adhered fitted into the hole. Then, the ground sill is combined with a flat elastic rubber body (2b) having a through hole (1d) into which a portion of the rubber body (2a) exposed from the ground sill is fitted, whereby a base isolation force can be effectively obtained by virtue of interaction between the rubber bodies.
