PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceiling lighting system for a car of an elevator that permits a short-time and solo mounting and dismounting operation of a lighting cover. SOLUTION: The ceiling lighting system 1 for a car of an elevator mounts the lighting cover 3 on a luminaire box 5 with fixing fittings 6 so that the lighting cover 3 is detachable from an opening 2A cut in a ceiling board 2. The fixing fittings 6 comprise a mounting member 7 mounted on the luminaire box 5, a leaf spring member 8 arranged in opposition to the mounting member 7, and a ball 9 held between the leaf spring member 8 and the mounting member 7. The leaf spring member 8 has a fitting hole 8A and a locking tongue 8B by which the ball 9 is locked. The lighting cover 3 has positioning holes 3A as a positioning hole for the ball 9.
