PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time from reading of a card personal-identification number from a security card by a card reader to control of a door and provide the small inexpensive card reader. SOLUTION: In a control system for entrance into/exit from a room, a host computer acquires the personal identification number transmitted from a portable terminal or via an individual collating means when the portable terminal gets close to the periphery of the individual collating means, derives personal identification information from a personal identification information database according to the acquired personal identification number, and transmits the derived personal identification information to the individual collating means. When given the personal identification information by a passerby who wants to enter the room, the individual collating means permits the passerby to enter the room on condition that the personal identification information given by the passerby corresponds to the personal identification information given by the host computer during collation of the former with the latter.
