摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic three-dimensional coordinate measuring method capable of measuring easily the three-dimensional coordinates of a body with a simple instrument, and an automatic three-dimensional coordinate measuring instrument using the method. SOLUTION: An auxiliary measuring means provided in a characteristic point is irradiated with illumination light, and image-picked up together with the body by a pair of imaging means set in different points (S104) to obtain a first image and a second image, an expitaxial polar-line corresponding to each characteristic point on the first image is found on the second image (S107), each characteristic point on the second image is ranked in order from the point neighboring to the epitaxial polar-line corresponding to one of the characteristic points on the first image (S108), the each characteristic point on the second image is coordinate- computed assuming that it corresponds to one of the characteristic points on the first image according to the ranked order (S109), and coordinate values provided in a coordinate computing process are verified whether they are proper values or not (S110) to determine the characteristic point on the second image corresponding to the characteristic point on the first image.
