PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet type image forming device by which the soiling of a transfer medium and a peripheral member due to the remaining of excess toner is prevented by removing the excess toner on a latent image carrier as much as possible. SOLUTION: An excess toner removing area 110a is widened over the entire area of a developer applying area 104a which is larger than an image effective area. Thus, an excess toner remaining area is not formed on a photoreceptive drum 1 by removing liquid developer having a possibility to be spread from an applying area a little after being applied to the photoreceptive drum 1 by a sweep roller 110 by which the excess toner of a wider range than an original applying area is removed.
