PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for nearly completely eliminating a trouble of a condenser (20) caused by solid components accompanied in a reaction discharge gas (13) in a method for producing an aromatic carboxylic acid by oxidizing an alkyl aromatic compound. SOLUTION: A water-containing acetic acid solvent condensed in the condenser is fed in an amount of 10-5,000 pts.wt. based on 10,000 pts.wt. crude product aromatic carboxylic acid to the inlet side of the condenser.
