摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a liquid crystal display element made to have narrower cell gap by controlling the cell gap of a liquid crystal display element cell so as to make the gap uniform. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel filled with a vertical liquid crystal is sandwiched by a buffer material 52 and a buffer material 53 and is heated up to 40 deg.C. Nitrile rubber of 1 to 10 mm in thickness, 50 to 70 in JIS hardness and 130 deg.C in heat resistance temperature is used as the buffer material 52 and the buffer material 53. The liquid crystal panel is gradually pressurized dividedly in three stages by a cylinder 55 until a final pressure of 3.0 kg/m2 is attained. The liquid crystal panel is pressurized and held for several minutes at the point of the time the final pressure is attained. The excess liquid crystals discharged from an injection port of the liquid crystal panel by pressurization are wiped away and an end-sealing material is applied to the injection port. The end-sealing material is irradiated with UV rays, the end-sealing material is then cured and its temperature is lowered down to ordinary temperature.
