PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cut pile knitted fabric having high density and volume of a pile, good shape stability, thick feeling and heat retaining properties, and suitably usable as blanket and carpet without making driving density high. SOLUTION: In a cut pile knit A, two or more different kinds of yarns are knitted as pile yarn in a state arranged in parallel without being twisted into a base material which becomes a base fabric 1 to form piles Pa and Pb of different kinds of yarns which stand together from same positions of the base material. When producing the cut pile knitted fabric using front and back base materials as the base fabric by knitting double knitted fabric from front and back bases and pile yarn alternately laid over these front and back bases and cutting pile yarn between both bases by the double Raschel machine, two or more different kinds of yarns are arranged in parallel and formed as one pile yarn and laid over the front and back bases and the pile yarn is cut to form the different kinds of yarn piles Pa and Pb which stand together from the same position of the bases.
