PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent defective separation of recording material after fixing a toner picture in a fixing device and to prolong a life of fixation separating nail. SOLUTION: When the sum totals of picture signal value of the front end part and the back end part of the recording material are respectively S, K (S3, S4), S is larger than 25,000,000 (S5) and K is smaller than 3,000,000, that is, a picture is present on the front end part and the picture is not present on the back end part, the timing of sending the recording material into a transfer part is made 0.01 second earlier than usual and the transfer position of the toner with respect to the recording material is shifted to the back end side of the recording material P by 2.5 mm. Because the toner picture is not transferred in the region of 2.5 mm of the front end part of the recording material P, the recording material after fixing the toner picture is smoothly separated from the surface of a fixing roller owing to the curvature separation of the fixing roller and does not attain the fixation separating nail. |
