<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a back pressure from being applied on an engine and reduction of an engine output by extremely reducing flow resistance of a flow of exhaust gas even in an exhaust system having an U-shaped bent part in the middle of line of which the exhaust system consists, regarding the exhaust system of an engine, for example, an automobile, and especially the exhaust system having an approximate U-shaped bent part in the middle of the line. SOLUTION: In the exhaust system of an engine having a bent part approximately in a U-shape in the middle of line of which the exhaust system consists, the bent part is formed in a gradual gentle curve such that the cross sectional area of an inner space in the vicinity of the top part of the U-shaped bent part is 1.3 times as much as the minimum inner sectional area of line having the bent part.</p> |
