PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method of easily forming glass having a relatively high viscosity of 101.0 to 104.0 Pa.s to a homogeneous and thin sheet form. SOLUTION: The method of forming the sheet glass by allowing molten glass to flow out of a slit-like orifice is characterized in that the section of the slit-like orifice has a shape narrower than the shapes at both the ends.
