PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for removing residual heat that not only improve radiation heat conduction from a containment vessel using a thermosyphon, but also can relatively reduce outlet temperature of exhausted air and can improve the radiation heat transfer without installing an additional structure in an air flow channel. SOLUTION: In a heat transfer device, the thermosyphon provides a heat transfer cycle in which steam is moved from an evaporating part with a high steam pressure to a condensing part with a low steam pressure by a natural phenomenon, namely steam pressure difference occurring in evaporating and condensing processes, and fluid condensed in the condensing part is moved to the evaporating part by an external force such as capillarity or gravity. In the method and device for absorbing residual heat transferred to the outside of a liquid metal reactor in the evaporating part of the thermosyphon and radiating the heat in the condensing part, the thermosyphon is installed between a concrete wall and the containment vessel in a nuclear reactor installed between a containment part and the concrete wall, the thermosyphon has the vertical evaporating part, a heat insulating part is tiltingly connected to the upper end of the evaporating part, and the vertical condensing part is formed in the heat insulating part.
