PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorption refrigerator which prevents debris or metal flakes from flowing into a pump and prevents rocking of the pump from occurring. SOLUTION: A refrigerant R is heated and evaporated by an evaporator 10, directed to an absorber, and absorbed into a solution in the absorber to obtain a thin solution; the thin solution obtained thus is transferred to a generator for pressure rising and superheating to obtain a thick solution of high temperature, which is then returned to the absorber. There are provided a pump P1 for pumping up the refrigerant R or the thin solution from the evaporator 10 or the absorber, and a suction pipe P1A for connecting the evaporator 10 or the absorber with the pump P1. The pipe P1A is made to protrude into the evaporator 10 or the absorber for connection therewith.
