PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vulcanizable elastic polymer with modified active terminals and a tread rubber composition for a tire containing the same. SOLUTION: In the presence of a nonpolar solvent, the activated terminal of a conjugate diene homopolymer polymerized by an organic lithium initiator or of a copolymer comprising one or more conjugate diene compounds and vinyl substituted aromatic compounds is modified by one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of polysiloxane based compounds described by the formula: Y- C(R3)(R4)}c-Si(R1)(R2)- O-Si(R1)(R2)}d- C(R3)(R4)}e-Y. In formula 1, Y is (X)a(R)bSi, (X)a(R)bC, or (X)e(R1)fBz-X, wherein X is a halogen atom, R is a lower alkyl group having 1-20 carbon atoms; R1, R3, and R4 are each a low alkyl group or the like, equal to or different from each other, having hydrogens atoms and 1-20 carbon atoms; R2 is equal to X or R1, or is (X)g(R3)hC- C(R3)(R4)}c-1; a is 1-3 and b is 0-2, and a+b=3; c is 1-1,000; d is 1-50,000; e and f are each 0-4, and e+f=4, g and h are each 0-3, and g+h=3; and Bz-X is a benzyl halogen.
