PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refractory structure of a melting furnace, wherein the thermal conductivity is improved with the use of a refractory involving much SiC, and its life time is prolonged by raising cooling effect, to hereby improve the corrosion resistance of a furnace body for molten slug. SOLUTION: The present is adapted, such that slug section bricks 12 in which 90 wt.% or higher SiC is contained and sintered in a non-oxidation atmosphere is disposed on an inner peripheral wall of a furnace body 2 located in the vicinity of a slug line L, that is a boundary line between a molten slug 3 and a gaseous atmosphere 11.
