The fixing device has a pin (2) secured at one end. The other end of the pin (5) is passed through clothing and detachably secured by a locking device (7) to the main body of the brooch. The locking device consists of a recess in the body accommodating the pin free end and a locking member with a slot. The member turns on the body to allow needle insertion when the slot and recess are in line, and to hold it in place after insertion. The member can contain a second slot shorter than the first. The body can have a smaller dia. cylindrical portion contg. the recess, which is enclosed by the locking member. ADVANTAGE - Unobtrusive and easy to use, there being no protruding pin end to cause injury.
