PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar spacer capable of being miniaturized and improving workability while being excellent in its installed stability. SOLUTION: The bar spacer is installed between the lower and upper bar members of a mesh-like arrangement of reinforcing bars when a floor slab is constructed by placement of concrete. The spacer includes a spacer body installed on one selected cruciform part of the lower bar member. The spacer body has legs at its lower end which are 90 deg. spaced apart on plan view. The legs can be fitted to vertical and horizontal reinforcing bars that constitute the cruciform part. By fitting the legs onto the vertical and horizontal reinforcing bars around the cruciform part while the legs are grounded, the spacer body can be made to stand by itself on the lower bar member while preventing its lateral movement.
