PURPOSE: To solve a limit problem of a collection volume by, relating to a gravity assistance type collecting device, using a suction by gravity together with that by capillary tube action. CONSTITUTION: Relating to a method and device for collecting a liquid, a liquid is firstly sucked by capillary tube action up to an intermediate point, then further sucked by gravity from the intermediate point. As a feature of the device, two parts 12 and 40 which form an opening are so connected at the intermediate point 44 as to be mutually bent. The first part 12 which activates a capillary tube action through the opening 14 is provided with a counter surface being away by a distance d1 which is shorter than an upper limit distance for keeping the flow into the first part 12 due to capillary tube action through the opening 14. The second part 40 which permits flow-in from the intermediate point 44 comprises counter surfaces, and its interval d2 is such effective value as to passively overcome any surface tension induced between counter surfaces by gravity. In addition, the second part is inclined while extending below the horizontal surface from the intermediate point. |
