PURPOSE:To provide the image forming device where cooling effect of a cooling device can be improved by controlling the temperature rise inside the device due to light emission of a lamp of a scanning exposure system. CONSTITUTION:In the image forming device carrying out exposure of an original image by moving the scanning exposure system provided with the lamp 42 and an optical system guiding an original image to a photosensitive body from a home position to the terminal end position of the original while illuminating the original, a returning means 34 returning the scanning exposure system after completion of exposure from the terminal end position of the original to the home position at a speed set beforehand, a light emission quantity setting means 32 setting the quantity of light emission of the lamp 42, and a speed variation means 30 varying the speed of return to a slow speed which is set beforehand when the set light emission quantity exceeds the threshold value set beforehand. |
