PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for boxing fishes capable of preventing lowering of the freshness in fish bodies and increasing of working efficiency, and enabling mechanization and labor reduction. SOLUTION: The boxing apparatus for packing fishes comprises a first transferring means 10 for transferring fish bodies and a second transferring means 40 for transferring fish boxes 50 arranged on a plurality of rows which is placed below the terminal part of the first transferring means and crosses the transferring direction of the first transferring means. The boxing apparatus is provided with a distributing means 20 which distributes the fish bodies dropping from the end of the transferring means 10 into fish boxes and a plurality of motion- controlling means 43 for controlling the move of the fish boxes 50, a detection means 30 for detecting falling fish bodies and a counting means 60 for counting the signals from the detection means 30. When the signals from the detection means 30 reaches a specified value, the distributing means 20 is operated to distribute fish bodies to the fish boxes on another row, and at the same time the fish boxes which have been receiving so far are moved.
