<p>A polytrimethylene terephthalate type polyester fiber which is excellent in smoothness, heat resistance, collectibility, and antistatic properties, is almost free from fluffing or breakage, and can be stably false twisted. The fiber comprises: a polyester fiber 80 wt.% or more of which is constituted of polytrimethylene terephthalate and which has a birefringence of 0.03 to 0.08, an elongation of 30 to 180%, and an elastic recovery at 10% elongation of 30 to 100%; and a treating agent adherent to the surface thereof in an amount of 0.2 to 1.0 wt.% which comprises 50 to 80 wt.% etherester compound represented by the following formula (ingredient (a)) and 2 to 20 wt.% polyether compound having a molecular weight of 10,000 or higher (ingredient (b)). R1OCO (A)X (CH2)Z (A)Y COOR2 (R1 and R2 each represents C7 21 alkyl; A represents C2 4 oxyalkylene; X and Y each is an integer of 0 or larger, provided that X+Y is 1 to 20; and Z is an integer of 3 to 12.).</p> |
