PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the image quality of an ultrasonic image is not adequately adjusted in a conventional ultrasonic wave device. SOLUTION: This device is characterized by providing a transmission/ reception part 102 for receiving ultrasonic wave which is emitted to an object and reflected from the object as an echo signal, an arithmetic processing part 202 for generating level distribution information based on a level appearance frequency from the strength level of the received echo signal (a) or a signal level related to the strength level (b), a means comprising a control part 201 for setting a conversion rule to convert the level in accordance with the generated distribution information and an image output part 105 for converting the level based on the set conversion rule and outputting the converted level.
