PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fishing rod whose rigidity is gently changed and whose condition is excellent. SOLUTION: This method for producing the fishing rod comprises a process for winding the first prepreg 10 on the periphery of a mandrel 100, a process for winding the second prepreg 11 having a smaller axial direction length than that of the first prepreg 10 on the periphery of the first prepreg 10, while margin portions are left on both the axial direction end sides of the first prepreg 10, and a process for winding the third prepreg 12 having a smaller axial direction length than that of the second prepreg 11 on the periphery of the second prepreg 11, while margin portions are left on both the axial direction end sides of the second prepreg 11.
