PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for trapping fleas, by which the fleas originated from an animal such as a dog or a cat are effectively attracted and trapped, and to provide a device for trapping the fleas. SOLUTION: This method for trapping the fleas comprises trapping the fleas in a trapping portion 5 which is disposed on an attracting route for attracting the fleas to the trapping portion 5 with attracting light so that a shadow difficult to exhibit the attraction effect of the attracting light is not formed. The device for trapping the fleas, comprises light sources 8, 9 for emitting prescribed attracting light, a trapping portion 5 for trapping the fleas, and a holding portion 4 for holding the trapping portion 5 at a setting place. The holding portion 4 is transparent or semi-transparent in such an extent that the attracting effect of the attracting light can be exhibited on an attracting route for attracting the fleas to the trapping portion 5 with the attracting light.
